More about the banknote

MISKOLC - Lillafüred

I wonder where the name of this place comes from?

The name Lillafüred comes from Count András Bethlen, Minister of Agriculture of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, who discovered a place of enchanting beauty during a hunting trip in 1892 and named it after his beloved Miss Lilli.

At the end of the Second World War, a military hospital for wounded Russian soldiers was established in the castle, and later, in 1993, the building was taken over by the Hunguest Hotels hotel chain, which then renovated and modernised the entire complex and significantly expanded its services. In 2015 the Hotel Palota was included in the Hungarian National Cultural Heritage List.
